Queenstown New Zealand Elopement – Eliza and Josh

We were absolutely thrilled when Eliza and Josh asked us to travel to Queenstown New Zealand for their intimate elopement in the South Island. Anyone that has been there before knows just how magical and incredible this place is. We were so honoured to be a part of this beautiful day.

This Queenstown elopement was pulled together by the Anteloping team and its definitely one of the most amazing elopements we have done to date. We arrived in Queenstown a few days early to get organised and prep for the big day. We flew into pretty ordinary weather, and later that day it began to pour, lasting for another 24hrs. We met up with our lovely couple for pizza and a few beers, running around the little backstreets of Queenstown trying to avoid the heavy rain.

We woke up to clear blue skies on elopement day. Eliza and Josh spent the morning getting ready at their beautiful Airbnb in Jacks Point, then ventured around past Queenstown to Moke Lake where their private ceremony took place. A few funny moments happened as the day unfolded. The winding road on the way to Make Lake road was blocked by a herd of sheep at one point and our footbridge to the ceremony had flooded overnight from heavy rain. But we made it happen. Flower genius Film and Foliage created the most beautiful ceremony backdrop amongst the mountains. The lake was mirroring all the surrounding scenery. It looked absolutely magnificent. Charlotte from Your Big Day delivered a beautiful private ceremony for Eliza and Josh and we all celebrated with hugs and cheers at the end. It was perfect.

Hopping in our cars, we made our way back to Jacks Point arriving to an amazing feast put together by The Wilderness Chef. Then this adventurous couple took a helicopter flight to some otherworldly locations. First up was Earnslaw Burn, we don’t even have words for how beautiful this place was but you’ll see from the photos. It’s where Josh proposed to Eliza years before. We then flew to Coromandel Peak which has the most iconic and spectacular views. We’ll never get over how beautiful this day was.

Thank you Eliza and Josh for one of the most memorable and magical days. We will treasure it forever.
